Thankful Thursday, week fifty-two ~Celebrating a year of Thursdays :).

Tomorrow will be exactly a year since I posted my first Thankful Thursday :)! In honor of that I am posting this on a Thursday ;). Big accomplishment, huh?!
No, seriously now. I was wondering if, maybe, some of you would like to help me celebrate! I know that several of my friends have told me they have started/want to start posting Thankful Thursday posts over this past year, and I wondered if anybody wanted to do that this week :). You could link to your post in the comments, and we could all have fun counting our blessings together! What do you say :)?... (And yes, this should have come earlier in the day... I'm sorry!)
This week I'm thankful for....
~Being able to read through blessings that I may have otherwise forgotten a year ago :).
~Rain.
~Yard work.
~Peter's enjoyment of dirt- that was sooo cute :).
~Clouds.
~That the weed eater started yesterday, haha. I had to call Daddy, but it finally obeyed, haha.
~Jasmine flowers... Tori found some in the woods :). Since all the stuff in the retention pond was cut down, I was worried that we wouldn't have any this year, and it was looking like that would be true. Tori got the idea to check in the woods, and found some :). Now we just have to get back there and cut enough to dry some :).
~Our iLumina software :).
~This challenge. I am really looking forward to getting the magazine (The King's Blooming Rose) that Sarah Bryant puts out!
~Getting to make hair clips with Bethi this week for the auction :). It was kind of stressfull knowing people are paying money for them, since I'd never made them before, but it was fun :).
~Resurrection Sunday- and, more importantly, what it stands for :) Praise Jesus for his death and resurrection for us!
~Cinnamon rolls. Oh, nobody has heard about my baking experience last Sunday, have they?... I am almost done writing a three part series, to be posted one at a time, with that story....
~That we were able to fix our washer (again!!!)
~Egg-less Peanut Butter cookies. We are trying not to give Abbi eggs, and I really wanted some PB cookies. I was so glad that I had a recipe from one of my friends (a former pen pal :).) and her sister :).
~And egg-less muffins. We can still do Muffin Morning Mondays!
~Blogging classes- Mommy signed us up for one earlier this week. We'll see what happens after we're done with it. I'm not sure yet how much will change around here :).
~A little one's delight at hearing their name in a book.
~The first butterfly of the year :).
~Getting to take a little one out to check the mail.
~Peter's little voice.
~A year of thankful thoughts :)!...

“‘I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
  therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell in hope."

Birds of the air...

We saw these birds earlier this year, and we saw them Wednesday and Thursday, also... we're guessing they were migrating back and forth... we thought this was amazing :)! We had so much fun watching them! (I'm sorry it is so shaky, haha. And yes, the birds were that loud!)

"And I say, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove!
I would fly away and be at rest;"

The end of our trip ~Virginia trip Part seven, and that's a wrap!

Part one
Part two
Part three
Part four
Part five
Part six
Part seven...
We did a little more sight seeing, found a Chick-fil-a, grabbed some lunch, and took it to a park for a picnic. After that we were on our way home, which we reached at exactly twelve o'clock, causing Daddy to win the "if we leave now, will we, or will we not get home before midnight" debate :)... We passed the Joanns in Richmond one last time (Joannes up there is always going to hold memories for us. We passed it for the first time, and I said "They have a Joanns!". Mommy didn't hear me, looked up, and said "Look! A Joanns!". Daddy laughed at us and told us "crafting people" to "look for some supper instead". Then Bethi piped up from the back "Hey! A Joanns!!!"... and so on.  After that we couldn't pass up the opportunity to mention it every time we passed it, which happened many times while looking for pizza ;)...)
We had a wonderful trip, and we are looking forward to the time when we can all be living up there together :)...

At the park.

Love this picture :)

The park was where we found that fun tree :)...

While Mommy was getting everybody settled in the back, Daddy took
Peter. Peter had fun playing with the steering wheel :)...

Fun with friends... Zoo pics

A few weeks ago we went to the zoo with our friends. We had a great time looking at God's creations, and enjoying fellowship :).

Bethi and her special friend... Bethi used to think they were cousins,
they are so close in age and in friendship :).

Sweet cats...

  Precious sister :)!

The Galapagos tortoise... hatched at the Riverbanks zoo,
and the child of the tortoise they believe is 130!

Abbi, playing with the lizard...

Am I the only one who finds this highly funny?! I mentioned a couple posts ago
that Abbi plays with her tongue... and, of course, lizards test the air
with their tongue. They were SO funny sticking their
tongues out at each other in turn!!!

This one is better ;)...

Tori took all of the pictures in the aquarium...

Jellyfish!

Beautiful!

"Dori, it's a Tori!!!", all of the littlest ones call when they see this fish.
None of them until they are about age four can keep those two names
straight when we're at the zoo ;)!

Sea horse!

This was a pretty starfish :).

"Nemos!"

Love this one!

Awww :)...

(This was, by the way, our friends stroller, stinker ;)...)

Their sweet one year old :).

Yes, it doesn't just run in the family... dueling photographers ;)...

Look at the sleeping Koalas, haha. Do they ever wake up?!
I think we've caught them up a handful of times over the
past eight+ years, haha!

Our friends had to leave earlier than they expected, but we stopped to feed the giraffes and fish before heading home. This was the first time any of us had fed the giraffes :)!

Emmi looks like she is feeding it in this one!

In reality, though, she stood in front of it and threw the lettuce at it's tongue, which didn't quite work :)...

It sure does look like she did in pictures, though. Funny!

Abbi loved it :)!!!

Look. Their tongues look like Abbi's ;), heehee...

After that came the fish (the flamingos are right across the path), and then we headed out for some shopping.

Flamingos (...and one goose...)!

Do you see the "teenage" flamingo to the side? My Daddy got a better picture of it, plus some of it as a baby, a "toddler", and  an older child. I'll have to post them sometime, it was neat :).

Here is the picture of the flamingo as a baby...

LOTS of fish :)!...
