Our house is on the market!!!

We are very excited :)! (And also very "keep-the-house-picked-up-and-throughly-clean" minded at the moment ;).)
Just the latest item of profound interest in our family ;)!
(By the way, in this Thankful Thursday post, my un-named thankful thought was that we finished painting that morning, January 13!... I was going to write a post just for our newly painted walls that coming Saturday... and needless to say, it didn't happen then, so I decided to wait until we were actually selling it :). Now we are!)

We've been very busy lately...

I've wanted to blog about many things that have happened during this busy time, but... it has been a busy time :). (Tori just walked into the room and told me that I had posted only two days ago, so I think I should clarify. It isn't that I haven't had time to post, just that I haven't had the time to post recent happenings between trip posts and Thankful Thursdays :). Look for a mega Thankful Thursday post in honor of Thanksgiving tomorrow!... And just remember, I said look, not read. I'll do my best :)!)
Before I go any farther, I want to share a tidbit about the "daily" bible passage on my side bar. Has anybody noticed that feature? It isn't quite daily, but I do update it every time I visit my blog page.
There are different ways I decide what chapter to post/book to work through next. I may read a chapter during my bible reading and want to share it's truths, Daddy may have picked that book to read during family bible time, or I may just make an impromptu decision to use a certain book or Psalm. I may also use the "Proverb of the day". Isn't it wonderful that God isn't one to say "all rights reserved" when it comes to his book :)? Anyway, the book we're working on now in church is Philippians. I'm also memorizing that book at the moment. And, that book has four chapters in it, the same number of days until Saturday, when Daddy will get home for Thanksgiving weekend!!! I thought a bible passage count-down of the days would be fun :)...
We will be celebrating Thanksgiving next Monday since Daddy will be home then- we're very thankful that he will make it home for that, since something he said a few days ago lead us to believe he wasn't going to be home for weeks!
As far as good news in the progress we've made on getting the house ready, we have only two more rooms to paint, after we complete the de-cluttering we're working on at the moment. Then we have the garage to clean ;)... And, all the the rooms that are painted are put back to rights. Of course we hung the curtains back up and put the electric covers back on, why would you ask? What? Why would you think that we had a grand old time laughing at all the things that happened during that process? No, nothing of the sort... all right, all right, I admit it.... I might tell you a little bit about our backwards switch plates and mutiny-desiring curtain rods sometime...
All this about packing leads me to the fact that I need to start Christmas presents, so that I can put the supplies I need for that up, along with the rest that we hope to have packed up before then. Anybody ready for that to start? I know I talked about Christmas a lot last year once I had started Christmas prep in ...October, I think it was ;). And cut it closely, if I remember correctly. But not as closely as the time I finished Christmas morning...
Some odd random bits...
We had to pick up some more paint last Friday, and we ended up getting the wrong kind, so had to go back the next day. As we were driving we hit a construction site... and Mommy called out "The road is lost!!!" Haha, seriously, it appears they bought a road and tore it up!!! Thankfully she found an alternative way to Lowes :).
Emmi was laying in bed with me the other day, and she told me that her "Veggietales" Larry stuffed toy was "dyed". I knew she meant "dried", but it sounded like "died". I decided to tease her a bit, and said "Larry died?! How sad!" She answered me, "No!!! You're silly!... I said dyed, not died!!!"
And, as my last bit of news to share with you all right now... would you consider praying for little Peter? He is very sick at the moment. Nobody else has caught it so far, so we're not sure if it is teething related of what, but little baby is feverish and miserable :(.

Promised piano post

On the nineteenth of last month, Daddy called some men and asked if they would be able to help us move a piano. One of Daddy's employees was selling hers, and Daddy had bought it :)!
We've been keeping a space open for the piano since we moved here. At least, during the summer months. During winter we move stuff around in the living room due to the Christmas tree, which we still don't know what we'll do with next November ;).
But, we are just thankful to the three men who gave up their time to help us move this HEAVY piano :)!!!
As soon as it is tuned, hopefully we'll get more into piano lessons. I really would love to play, but I have a hard time getting far before I let lessons slide again. Hopefully having more than a keyboard will help me stay motivated ;).
This piano is  95-years-old, which is really neat :). And, in this picture, you will also see Mommy's 75-year-old secretary desk. Mommy and I like old things- we went antique shopping on my birthday :).

Emmi likes the piano too :).

Today we will take a trip around my house...

~Tori thought that this would be a fun project for her to work on, and I thought that it was very well written. I told her that I would put it up on my blog when she was done (I did a post like this a couple years ago, but since then we've moved three miles down the road (and had to change our bread recipe to fit the different climate *three miles down the road*))~

"This will be fun won't it? We go in and we see the living room. The garage is there to the left. Beside it is a closet were we keep our coats and shoes, diaper bag and sometimes a car seat. As we pass the living room we see the stairs. Well we're already here so I'll take you up." "What is this?" you ask. "This is were all the children sleep. Andrew will leave soon. Maybe just a year from now. Well that's all the rooms up here so- Wait!" "What's the matter?" You say. "My six~year old sister wants me to show you the closet!" I take you in. "What's this? A cupboard?" You wonder, looking at the small door in the closet. "Oh that leads to the attic! Anyway, this is where we keep little ones toys they share. Okay we can go on now. Now we will go in to the kitchen." "What is this?" You ask. "That's the grinder that we make flour with." "Why do you have two?" You say. "Because one rolls oatmeal!" "Oh!" You nod. "We need a new table! We've had this one for- Ummm- seven and a half years!" "Wow!" You say. "Yes! Since I was almost three! I'm almost ten now!" "Wow !" You say. "Yep! But I still remember Daddy putting it together. My (now fourteen) year-old sister and me loved it when he was putting it together! We kept stopping getting ready for bed to watch him! The leg keeps falling off now! We lost a screw to hold it on too! Well this is our Landry room. And this is Mommy's and Daddy's room. Most of the time we do bible time in here. We also have movie nights in here. Well this is all in here. We can go in to the hall now... Well this is the library. We keep games, instruments, school and movies in here too. This is the 'craft room' were we keep stuff for-
crafts! Over there is the bathroom to the left. There's one in Mommy's room too. Well I think that's it! Thanks for coming!" "Bye!" "Bye!" ~Tori, age nine.

~Didn't she do a *great* job :)?~

Welcome to our home!

I want to take you on a tour of our house so you have idea on what it looks like. The first thing you see when you come in is the living room. It is in a pansy theme (because pansies are my Mom's favorite flowers) it is the most pretty room in the house! If you go sideways to the left you will find that it leads you to the kitchen and you will see that it is a grape theme (my Mother's favorite FRUIT). It also is a pretty room and it is where I am sitting right now (it is the computer room/schoolroom/dining room/and kitchen all in one). In the hall there isn't anything special going on but the bathroom (to the left) is full of roses, and Bethi's room (to the right) is a butterfly theme. Tori and mine room (also to the right) doesn't have any real theme, but it has horse pictures, flower wall stickers, and a lot of little toys. Last of all, you have Mom and Dad's room (when you go left again). It has a pretty black wrought iron theme. It also is a pretty room and (going straight and turning left) you will see the bathroom comes off of their room and IT is done in a seashell theme. That's our home! So bye!
