Do you have any funnies to share?!

I just have to laugh at the thought I just had of how odd we must sound at times while talking to a little one...
In the kitchen just now you could have heard me tell Abbi "Yes, I will use girl bread for your girl sandwich. No, I will be sure Andrew is the only one to get a boy sandwich..."
As a bit of an explanation to this otherwise senseless conversation, Andrew thought that we were saying "girl" every time we said "grilled" sandwich for the first three years of his life, and it stuck ;). And, since a boy can not eat "girl sandwiches", we started making "boy sandwiches", too. And, yes, by the way, "boy sandwiches" stuck too ;).
I'd love to hear any stories you may have of how little ones have influenced your speech :)! Come on, it will be fun1

It's Thursday!

And here are some of my Thankful Thoughts for the week...
~Donuts.
~"The Sound of Music"...
~...and the sound of music ;)...
~Daddy's trip home last weekend.
~That everybody really does seem to be over the sickness that was going around the past two weeks.
~Sewing.
~Tatting.
~The Hidden Treasures auctions. (Hurry, hurry! You have about four and a half hours to take a final look around!)
~Math-U-See- I have become fairly certain that the fact that it's working can not be a fluke ;).
~Bible reading.
~Fellow Christians, and being able to read through and memorize God's word together.
~Pomegranate juice. (Which, by the way, Peter loves. It was cute :). Abbi was all too glad to share the last bit with him, too, heehee :). We were giving her so much orange juice with Grapefruit Seed Extract in it, pomegranate juice, and water, hoping that she would improve faster (before Emmi and Peter got so bad, she was our main patient), that she was getting waterlogged, haha!)
~Pre-made Cheese soup- you get the flavor without the work ;). Well, on the day you eat it. On the other hand, it doesn't really save that much work... especially when you consider that the cheese sauce boiled over the sides of the pan, haha. That was fun to clean up ;). Actually, it kind of was, as the cleaner I used got off a couple of spots that I had been working on for awhile, thinking that they were permanent stains :). (We have a smooth top stove.)
~Daddy and Mommy's marriage. They celebrated their sixteenth wedding anniversary last Sunday :)! Abbi was so adorable, the fact that we were telling her that "this is the day Daddy and Mommy married" must have got her to thinking, because she asked Daddy the next day at supper, "Daddy, how did you find Mommy?" Love her :)!
~Humidifiers.
~Baby babbles :).
~And baby yawns :).
~You know what, I'm just plain thankful for everything about Peter :)!...
~..And Emmi,
~Abbi,
~Andrew,
~Bethi,
~Tori,
~Mommy,
~and Daddy :).

1 We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near. Wea recount your wondrous deeds.
                         ~Psalm 75:1

I'll give you three guesses

as to what Emmi has to do with "The Piano Guys", and how she has became "famous" around the world...
Right now, I'll just say, we weren't expecting this, and we're not entirely sure what to think about it... but it is kind of funny, too, in an amazing sort of way.
I find myself thinking of Charlie and the Finger, and the commercial that responded to that You-tube video... heeheehee :).

Praying that that was the worst...

First, Daddy had to leave Tuesday :(. That has only made the past two days seem worst... he is usually the one who takes the task of deciding when someone is "urgently" sick, something we don't grudge him in the least, haha...
I thought everybody was getting over the awful colds we'd had all last week on Sunday. But, on Monday, Daddy, caught it, or something else, we're not sure.
Emmi and Peter had it bad yesterday. The rest of us are not sure if it was because they are so little, or if they really do have something different, and our turn is right around the corner.
Even compared to Peter, though, Emmi was bad. I mean, bad. Peter seemed down-right perky next to her. (And he wasn't, I assure you!)
Do you remember that a little over a year ago, Daddy and Mommy made the decision to take Emmi to Urgent Care? We have been very blessed excitement-wise (as in, excitement free ;)!) when it comes to health, and we had never taken anybody to get them checked out for a cold before, but Emmi really sounded like she could not breath, and would not eat or even drink water.
Well, that's how it seemed she was acting yesterday. Only it seemed even worst, because she was coughing so hard, she developed a headache on top of everything else. She was pitiful, coughing and then whimpering as she rubbed her head :(. If she hadn't improved as well as she did after we gave her a bit of medicine, I think Mommy would definitely have taken her to Urgent Care again.
But, she has shown great signs of feeling normal today, which we are extremely thankful to God for :), and Peter doesn't seem quite as groggy today, either, so... we may be just about over everything?
Anyway... just sharing recent happenings... I'm really hoping I'll get to posting Thankful Thursday tomorrow!

Reading the same passage of scripture for 50 days

I hadn't thought of this before, but I am really excited about it!
Miss Grace Mally posted this on her blog- The Romans Challenge- and I am excited about it :). I love having a reading plan, and when I saw this, I decided to join for several reasons :).
I was looking for another longer bible reading plan, as I have been wanting to spend more time in the word.
I think that reading the passage of Romans 1-8 will be wonderful in that I hope that these truth-filled verses will become a bigger part of my life.
I am also hoping that reading it many times will help me memorize it ;).
And, I would like to write down the whole first eight chapters in a note book during these fifty days. I think it would be a wonderful keepsake! I have actually wanted to write out large portions of scripture for about a year (partly in hopes that it would help me memorize, haha...), but I haven't gotten far at all. I think doing it over a period of several weeks will be much better than trying to do it all at once, as I had been trying to do.
Anyway, just really excited about it! Does anybody else think that they would like to try this :)?! I have asked friends to join me in reading through the bible a few times, and it has been an extreme blessing to me! (Not to mention that when somebody you really know asks you "Where are you at with your bible reading", and they know where you are suppose to be, at random times, it can help you stay on track, heehee...)... if you would like to join, I would love to hear from you!

Trick pic #9~ The answer unveiled!

Yes, Kaitlyn...
It is a toad. And since you said  you couldn't see it... you just know it is a toad because you read this post...

And gave me many laughs during your search...

I cropped it for you. Can you see it now? I know it gets kind of blurry up close, sorry. But it is right there... in the middle...
And I have to say, this was my favorite trick pic up to date, and I almost didn't post it! I got a good many laughs from the conversation it caused, and since laughter is good medicine, that is a good thing right now... cough, cough...
It's a good thing that being sick while blogging doesn't spread the illness, haha. Especially since I also have Peter on my lap, who has not snored this hard in a while... Poor baby...

And...

The Hidden Treasures auction is up and running!
I better go now :). We have some projects to finish up for the auction ( :P...), and we need to get the house cleaned up and the laundry done before Daddy gets home tonight... and since we have sick little ones everywhere, we've got a little more laundry than usual... Poor things...
...Although, they do cough in tune to each other quite nicely... *Cough, cough* *Hack, wheeze* Wheeze, hack* *Cough, cough, hack, wheeze, cough*... Family bible time was noisy yesterday, heeheehee...

Shhh...

I can't talk too loud, here...
But Daddy is coming home tonight!!!!

Just sneaking in to post a Trick Pic...

I actually posted this picture last year, but that was before I started Trick pics, and I thought this would make a fun one. Those of you with good memories might remember this, and those of you with (really) good eyes should get it, too. Or somebody with so much time on their hands that they search my whole blog... but I doubt that happens ;)...
This is the whole picture, so these are all the clues you are going to get to see ;).

As the sloth...

For Christmas, Daddy and Mommy gave us a set of Moody Science Classic videos.
We watched a couple of them today, "Voice of the Deep" and "Of Books and Sloths."
The science they share is really interesting, and they do a great job explaining why they dispel the "conclusions" that they address. At the end, they also include a lesson with the word of God that ties into their topic. I think they are, on average, close to thirty minutes each.
I especially enjoyed the sloth one... I'll admit, I thought that the little sloth that they used as a model for most of it was cute :). But, they took a quote from a book that stated that the "sloth only needed one more "imperfection" in it's (God created!) form to make it unable to survive". They then carefully went through and showed how the examples used to show this were not true... for one thing, it is obvious that the sloth has teeth ;). And as to having no defenses- being able to look like termite nest in the trees when curled up, and having strong skin, along with thick, wiry hair to protect them, sounds like a defense to me! If you ask me, the sloth is just another special creature that points to the fact that we have a creator!
I pray that I may be used to show others that we do have a creator, just as the sloth does!
